April 8, 2015 – A drag battle between Mercedes AMG GT and a Porsche 911 variant is something we’ve been looking forward to ever since the former’s introduction. Luckily, France’s Motorsport Magazine delivered.

The magazine pitted the range-topping Mercedes AMG GT S against the Carrera 4 GTS variant of the Porsche 911 – two cars that are similarly priced. However, the Mercedes has better numbers on paper with 503 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque compared to the Porsche’s 430 horsepower and 440 Nm, but the 911 is all-wheel drive and weighs 80 kilograms lighter.
If there’s one thing we learned, it’s that we should never underestimate the cars from Stuttgart, even if they’re down on power. Enjoy the battle in the video below.
