May 1, 2015 – The new Mercedes AMG GT is considered a true competitor to the Porsche 911, which many believe is the benchmark in its class, but can Mercedes’ newcomer set a new benchmark?
EVO didn’t have to wait long to find out, as they recently pit the AMG GT S against the Porsche 911 Turbo. The Mercedes hides a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 503 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, and a seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transfers power to the rear wheels. The Porsche, on the other hand, uses a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six unit with 520 horsepower, coupled to a PDK dual-clutch transmission working in unison with all-wheel drive
