May 27, 2015 – A troubled Jezzine Rally 2015 forbade Elie Nehme from fighting for front-running positions, but he and co-driver Louay Sakr successfully made it to the finish, whereas many others failed.
Sponsored by USG BORAL and X-Concepts Automobili, Elie Nehme’s first and foremost target for the Jezzine Rally – his first rally of 2015 – was to finish, and this is what he successfully did in the Renault Clio R3 that he also drove last year.
However, Nehme’s Jezzine Rally participation did not go completely according to plan as a minor mistake in the fourth special stage in Bhannine damaged the Clio R3, but the crew were determined to continue till the end despite the damages.
Since a podium finish was highly unlikely after the incident, Elie Nehme and Louay Sakr benefited from consistent extra running to get in good shape for upcoming rounds by collecting useful data.
The 4th Jezzine Rally consisted of nine special stages that covered 107.85 kilometers of the 237.46-kilometer total distance. Bhannine (10.03 km) hosted the first, fourth and seventh special; Azour (9.12 km) the second fifth eighth special, and Barti (16.80 km) the third, sixth and ninth special.
Elie Nehme’s next participation – with the support of USG BORAL and X-Concepts Automobili – will come in the third and penultimate round of the 2015 Lebanese Rally Championship, which is also known as the Cedars Rally – scheduled on July 5.
