Rhys Millen wins the 2015 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in an electric vehicle

July 2, 2015 – Rhys Millen made history this week by winning the 2015 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in an electric vehicle – the first time ever an all-electric vehicle wins the event.

Millen clocked 9 minutes 07.222 seconds in the eO PP03 electric racecar, which is way off Sebastien Loeb’s record-breaking run (8 minutes 13.878 seconds) aboard the Peugeot 208 T16 during last year’s edition of the event.

The eO PP03 is powered by six electric motors that produce a peak power of 1386 horsepower and 2160 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a single-speed transmission.
