Major security vulnerability discovered in new Jeep Cherokee

July 22, 2015 – A couple of American hackers have successfully managed to hack into a latest-gen Jeep Cherokee, thus gaining access to all the of the Cherokee’s functions, including some vital ones like steering and braking.

Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek – the two hackers – were recently featured on Wired Magazine and they demonstrated how they are capable of remotely hacking into a Jeep and tampering with its functions. They were able to play with the infotainment system and control other critical stuff like the engine, transmission and brakes.

How were the two hackers able to discover such a major security vulnerability? Find out in the video below. We just hope that the FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) can address the issue before someone with the wrong intentions gains access to their vehicles.
