September 22, 2015 – Pedro Piquet, the son of former Formula 1 world champion Nelson Piquet, escaped with minor injuries from a horrifying crash this past weekend.
Piquet was competing for positions in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge in Brazil when he made contact with another car on the opening lap of the second race, sending his car into a violent barrel roll.
After receiving medical attention on site at the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, the 17-year-old received was taken to a nearby hospital in Goiania for observation. Piquet later posted a picture of himself with bruising to his face on Instagram.
