Porsche responds to lawsuit filed by Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow

October 2, 2015 – Porsche has responded to Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow, who filed a lawsuit against the German sportscar manufacturer for negligence and wrongful death following the 2013 death of her father.

In the lawsuit, Meadow’s lawyers claimed that the Porsche Carrera GT that Walker and his friend Roger Rodas died in was a flawed supercar, lacking a stability control system and other safety features that could’ve saved their lives.

Porsche was quick to reply, saying in a statement: “as we have said before, we are very sad whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities’ reports in this case clearly establish that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed.”

After a thorough investigation by Porsche engineers and L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, it was revealed in March 2014 that the crash was due to excessive speed (Rodas was reportedly driving the car at 150 km/h in a 72 km/h zone) and 9-year-old tyres.
