Footage shows insane 50-lane traffic jam in China

October 9, 2015 – Thousands of Chinese motorists who were on holiday found themselves in a massive 50-lane traffic jam on the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway yesterday.

After Golden Week, which is a seven-day break from work, city-dwellers were returning home from the week-long vacation, and many opted to do so by driving, eventually leading to perhaps the world’s biggest traffic jam, and the fact that the 50-lane traffic was shrunk to 20 lanes didn’t alleviate the situation.

According to the Telegraph, half of China’s population, which equates to 750 million people, traveled during Golden Week.
