February 4, 2016 – In a surprise announcement, Top Gear’s new host Chris Evans officially confirmed that Matt LeBlanc will join him as a co-presenter when the new series premieres in May.
The American actor, who’s famous for his role in the television sitcom Friends, previously appeared in two Top Gear episodes, setting an as-yet unbeaten lap time of 1 minute 42.1 seconds in the Kia cee’d.
“As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter,” said Matt. “What a thrill!”
Top Gear said they will have more news on additional Top Gear cast members shortly.
