April 7, 2016 – Renaultsport Club Lebanon has invited owners of hot hatches in Lebanon to take part in the opening round of the Lebanese Speed Test Championship which scheduled for April 17. The club said in a statement:
A friendly invitation to every Hot Hatch owner out there,
Many times, we have been defied in street drag racing. We were not responding as we think these practices are illegal. Besides that, we wish not to harm anyone and especially not ourselves in irresponsible and unnecessary accidents.
This time, it is our turn to invite and challenge you. We aim to show what we are really able to do in a professional framework. As you may already know, ATCL is organizing its traditional yearly Speed Test Championship starting this 17th of April with a total of 5 races.
Speed Test races consist of driving on a closed circuit with different kinds of bents, curves and chicanes created in order to show the real potential and skills of both cars and drivers. And of course, the safety is insured in a professional manner by the organizers.
We do think we are among the best hot hatch drivers out there and our cars are perfectly balanced for this kind of competition. Maybe being the only ones participating says a lot? If you think you have what it takes to challenge us, just join us for a safe, fair and healthy race and let the best man/machine combination win!
