2016 Rally Argentina results after Day 1

April 23, 2016 – Volkswagen’s Jari-Matti Latvala leads Rally Argentina, the fourth round of the 2016 World Rally Championship, at the end of the first full day of action.

It was Dani Sordo who led the way initially after winning the first special stage on Thursday, but Latvala set the fastest time in four (SS3, SS4, SS7, SS8) of Friday’s eight special stages to take the lead, while team-mate Sebastien Ogier lies second overall, having won two specials (SS2, SS9).

Latvala and Ogier are separated by 8 seconds, whilst Hyundai’s Hayden Paddon, who won SS6, is third overall and only 3.5 seconds behind Ogier, followed by Andreas Mikkelsen and Dani Sordo, who aren’t very far off.

Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville lost six minutes through SS4 with an electrical issue, but fought back to win SS5 and now is 10th overall.
