May 1, 2016 – Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg secured his fourth consecutive victory of the season, and his seventh over two seasons, after an easy race that saw him unchallenged throughout the 53 laps.
Rosberg made a good start and successfully defended his position going into turn 1, while team-mate Lewis Hamilton moved from P10 to P5 as he benefited from a collision between Red Bull’s Daniil Kvyat and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, which put the latter out of the race.
Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen were then able to move past the two Williams cars of Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa to finish second and third respectively, while the two Williams drivers finished fourth and fifth respectively.
McLaren’s Fernando Alonso scored his best result of the season so far with P6, followed by the Renault of Kevin Magnussen.
