Bassoul Heneine Sal partners with Beirut Design Week

June 24, 2016 – In continued support of Lebanon’s vibrant arts and culture scene, Bassoul Heneine Sal, the oldest BMW importer in the world, took part in the Beirut Design Week 2016 with a special showcase from the sleek and stylish BMW 4 Series Convertible.

Marking its inaugural appearance at the Middle East and North Africa region’s fastest growing design festival, Bassoul Heneine sal demonstrated the BMW brand’s impressive design and innovation credentials, with the open top car taking centre stage. Fellow exhibitors, art and design enthusiasts and visitors alike flocked to get a closer look at the sporty convertible, which was designed by Beirut-born Karim Habib, who is responsible for both the exterior and interior design of all BMW cars, together with his team.

Nagy Heneine, General Manager for Commercial Affairs at Bassoul-Heneine sal, said: “We have always been an avid supporter of Lebanon’s arts and culture scene and continue to look for ways in which to be a part of this movement. Bringing together members of the Lebanese creative community from fields as diverse as architecture, lighting, fashion, furniture, technology, and graphic design, this year’s Beirut Design Week was the ideal platform for us to do just that. We were delighted to welcome people into the world of BMW design and hope that the BMW 4 Series Convertible sparked curiosity amongst all the festival’s artists, creators and visitors, and inspired even more passion and creativity.”

BMW Beirrut Design Week 2

With the 2016 Beirut Design Week’s concept built around strong visual statements in graphic design, the BMW 4 Series Convertible was the ideal showcase for the festival. Customers were able to see its specific design vocabulary, unique aesthetics and expressive presence first-hand. With its unmistakable and elegant silhouette shape with balanced proportions when the top is down, and a sleek look when the hardtop is closed, the BMW 4 Series Convertible presents a stylish fusion of sporty allure, elegance and exclusivity.

It also features a three-part, folding hardtop that when closed offers enhanced acoustic comfort and opens in less than 20 seconds at the push of a button. The premium four seater convertible received a model specific Open Air Package in March of this year, including a heated steering wheel, neck warmer (adjustable through three stages), wind deflector, HiFi loudspeaker system and through-loading system between the boot area and rear compartment providing additional functionality.

Now in its fifth year, the Beirut Design Week is the largest growing design festival in Lebanon and MENA – spanning all over the capital city in 100 locations for workshops, exhibitions, open studios, film screenings, talks, tours, public interventions and conferences attracting over 25,000 visitors with almost 150 events.
