July 19, 2016 – After traveling for more than 13,000 kilometers, Lebanon’s Charbel Habib and Walid Samaha reached the finish line of the 2016 Peking to Paris Motor Challenge successfully on Sunday, July 17.
The Lebanese team triumphantly rolled into Place Vendôme in Paris this past Sunday in the Porsche 356C, finishing 24th overall, sealing 2nd place in their category and earning a gold medal following 35 exhausting days of non-stop racing. Thankfully, their classic Porsche held up rather well, with no major issues reported by the team.
Habib and Samaha were the only team representing Lebanon and the Middle East in the grueling race, which featured 115 teams from all over the globe. They crossed several Eurasian countries on their journey from Peking (China) to Paris (France), including Russia, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy and Switzerland.
Congratulations to the Lebanese team, whose massive achievement will be forever etched in Lebanese motorsport history books.
