December 9, 2016 – Haitham Al Hadidy was crowned the 2016 King of Drift today during the Red Bull Car Park Drift Finals that took place in front of thousands of spectators in Port Sultan Qaboos in Oman.
In front of his home crowd, the Omani driver defeated the region’s top drifters by faultlessly drifting his Nissan Silvia through cranes, barrels, boxes and cones to score most points and secure the 7th King of Drift title at the end of a fierce battle.
Ali Al Balushi (Oman) and Tareq Al Shaihani (Oman) completed an all-Omani podium by finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively, while Lebanon’s Ahmad Karaki missed out on the top 8 by just one position, completing the event in 9th place amid extremely tough competition.
The 2016 Red Bull Car Park Drift Finals witnessed the participation of 14 drifters from Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Mauritius, Tunisia, Lebanon, Morocco, Jordan, Oman, Bahrain and UAE.
