March 13, 2017 – It’s easy to complain about gasoline prices in Lebanon, but the fact of the matter is that they are significantly lower than the global average which currently stands at 30,300 LBP per 20 liters, whereas we pay 23,700 LBP per 20L.
However, how do we stack up against oil-rich Arab nations? Not so well. The infographic below, courtesy of Karrenn, shows us how we compared with 10 other Middle East countries back in February 2017. Only Jordan and war-torn Syria suffer from higher prices, so we’re 3rd worst.
If you really think about it though, we’re much better off now than the days when a 20-liter tank cost more than 30,000 LBP.
