The 2025 Nissan Armada debuts with a powerful V-6 engine, tech upgrades, and the rugged Pro-4X off-road trim, perfect for on- and off-road adventures.
Nissan’s largest SUV, the Armada, is getting a significant overhaul for 2025. The redesigned three-row SUV boasts a fresh look, a more tech-focused interior, a powerful new engine, and for the first time in the U.S., an off-road-ready Pro-4X trim.
Under the hood, the 2025 Armada features a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine, borrowed from the Infiniti QX80. This engine produces 425 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, delivering 25 more horsepower and 103 more pound-feet of torque than the outgoing V-8. Paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and adaptive four-wheel drive, the new powertrain enhances performance and off-road capability.
The new Armada boasts a 25% increase in torsional rigidity and a 57% improvement in lateral stiffness, contributing to a smoother ride and greater off-road performance, especially in the new Pro-4X trim. With a class four tow hitch now standard, the SUV can tow up to 8,500 pounds.
The Pro-4X trim brings off-road enhancements such as 20-inch all-terrain tires, adaptive air suspension, a metal skid plate, and an electronic locking rear differential, previously exclusive to the Middle Eastern-market Nissan Patrol. The Pro-4X also offers 9.6 inches of ground clearance, with a revised front fascia and rear bumper improving approach, breakover, and departure angles.
For those seeking luxury over ruggedness, the new Platinum Reserve model sits at the top of the Armada lineup. It features exclusive 22-inch wheels, an adaptive air suspension, and premium interior upgrades, including massaging seats and a head-up display.
Safety is a top priority in the 2025 Armada, with standard features like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and a 170-degree front camera view. Pro Pilot Assist, which provides steering, acceleration, and braking input, comes standard across the lineup, while the Pro Pilot 2.1 system—offering hands-free highway driving—comes on higher trims.
Inside, the Armada features dual 12.3-inch screens, with Google integration for maps and apps on SL models and above. Higher trims, including the Pro-4X and Platinum, upgrade to dual 14.3-inch displays. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
While pricing has yet to be announced, the 2025 Armada is expected to remain competitive with models like the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, and Toyota Sequoia. The updated Armada will be available later this year.
