Jaguar Type 00 Concept: A New Era in Electric Design
Jaguar’s journey into an electrified future begins with the Type 00 Concept, an all-electric vision unveiled during Miami Art Week. This debut is no accident, as the event aligns perfectly with Jaguar’s mission to merge artistic creativity with cutting-edge innovation. The Type 00 Concept showcases bold geometric designs, vivid colors, and a minimalist ethos inspired by Jaguar’s rich heritage.

A Design Revolution
The Type 00, pronounced “zero-zero,” features a sleek silhouette with a long hood flowing into a fastback. Its front end boasts razor-thin lighting and a simple rectangular grille embossed into the bodywork. Chunky side panels and vertical accents evoke classic Range Rover aesthetics, while brass ingots housing rear-facing cameras add a modern twist. With no rear window, Jaguar incorporates a unique “pantograph tailgate” for access to the cargo space.
Butterfly doors invite passengers into a futuristic interior defined by Jaguar’s Exuberant Modernism. The cabin features flat front seats split by a brass spine and retractable screens, eliminating visible instruments or controls. Luxurious materials such as handwoven wool blends and travertine stone lend an artistic and tactile quality to the design.
The Future of Jaguar EVs
Built on Jaguar’s JEA platform, the Type 00 Concept promises an EPA-estimated range of 430 miles and rapid charging capabilities, reclaiming 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes. While specifics about its powertrain remain under wraps, this architecture sets the stage for Jaguar’s upcoming production EVs.
The first production vehicle inspired by the Type 00 will be a four-door GT, expected to debut in late 2025. Spy shots suggest similarities in its low-slung proportions and fastback roofline, hinting at a production model that captures the concept’s visionary spirit.
