The 2026 Nissan Sentra has been fully redesigned, offering a sleeker look and smarter features as it becomes Nissan’s core entry-level sedan. With the Versa likely ending production after 2025, the Sentra is now positioned as one of the most affordable new cars in Nissan’s lineup.
While the engine remains unchanged—a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque—the car introduces significant updates in design, interior tech, and trim options. Power is sent to the front wheels through an Xtronic continuously variable transmission.
The new Sentra measures slightly longer at 183.3 inches, but has a shorter wheelbase and sits a bit lower to improve aerodynamics. Width remains the same, while a modest increase in height adds cabin space. The redesigned exterior includes a new V-motion grille, slimmer headlights, smaller wheel arches, flat underbody panels, and improved side mirror design to reduce drag.
Inside, the 2026 Sentra gains a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 7.0-inch driver display is standard, while upper trims offer a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and wireless phone features. Trim options have expanded to four: S, SV, SL, and SR.
The returning SL trim adds upscale touches like a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, power sunroof, quilted synthetic leather seats, and 17-inch wheels. The SR trim stands out with dark chrome accents, a sportier front bumper, black side sills, rear spoiler, and two-tone roof paired with 18-inch wheels. SV, SR, and SL trims also include a drive mode selector with a Sport setting for enhanced throttle response and steering.
Nissan estimates fuel economy at up to 29 mpg city and 38 mpg highway. The 2026 Sentra will arrive in showrooms later this year, offering a modern update to a key compact sedan.
