McLaren is planning to re-introduce the upgrades it could not bring to the Turkish GP in next week’s race in Barcelona.
The team admitted that having been unable to run all the updates it was hoping for in Istanbul hurt its chances of a stronger result.
Lewis Hamilton finished the race in fourth position, with Jenson Button in sixth.
With two weeks between the Turkish and the Spanish GPs, however, McLaren is planning to take all the upgrades to the Barcelona race.
“Once again, however, they’ll only be introduced if their initial deployment on Friday proves successful,” said team boss Martin Whitmarsh.
