March 28, 2017 – Ahmad Khaled has confirmed that he will be taking part in the Lebanese Rally Championship for the first time in his career by making his debut at the 2017 Spring Rally on Sunday.
In a conversation with Biser3a.com, Ahmad said: “I’m going to be competing in the 33rd Spring Rally and we want to do the full Lebanese Rally Championship, in addition to the full Lebanese Hill Climb Championship on the same car in order to maximize our points”.
Ahmad will drive a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII in the Group N category alongside new co-driver Idris Ataya, and the pair will be carrying out a test this week in preparation for Sunday’s action.
“Our aim for the 33rd Spring Rally is to safely reach the finish line. This is our very first rally, so we need to get to know the car better. The main aim for the season is to make progress and improve our pace rally after rally.” said Ahmad.
He added: “I would like to thank Tony Helou for his great support and of course Auto Khaled.”
Ahmad also revealed that a Lebanese Speed Test Championship participation is still unclear and that it looks unlikely.
