All-new Mazda 6 breaks cover in Moscow

When we think Mazda, we think cool, contemporary and nippy, and with the unveil of their all-new and stunning Mazda 6 in Moscow yesterday, our image of the Japanese brand remains unchanged.

Looking almost virtually identical to the 2011 Takeri Concept, the new 6 features the company’s latest “Kodo” (Soul of Motion) design language, first seen on the CX-5 crossover SUV.

The new Mazda gets two gasoline Skyactiv engines including a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 148 horsepower mated to either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox, and a more powerful 2.5-liter unit with 189 horsepower coupled to the automatic gearbox only.

Among the Mazda 6’s technological features is a new regenerative braking system called the “i-Eloop”, in addition to an “i-Stop” stop/start system and a new user interface similar to BMW’s iDrive.
