Last year he was very impressive in the speed test championship where he won the second speed test event for amateurs. ATCL’s new rule for winners this season obliged him to change car so he will be participating on a new car with a new sponsor and he will try to win the group N category. We had a quick chat with Shady Akl to stand on his preparation for the event on Sunday.
Tell us about your last minute registration for Sunday’s Speed test event?
Well I registered at the last minute in the group N category after ATCL imposed a rule on the winners for the amateur category. I would like to thank my sponsors “Retail Group – Steve Madden” for their support.
On what car will you be participating?
I will be participating on a group N EVO 9 prepared by Kazan Performance.

I am going all the way for the win. So the target is first place indeed.
Will you be able to battle with the prototypes?
It depends on the driver himself. We may be able to battle and challenge the prototypes but I guess Abdo is difficult to compete with.
Will you be participating in all the championship rounds this year?
Nothing is clear yet and we don’t know for sure. I am concentrating on Sunday now.
