The Audi Q5 e hybrid SUV arrives with enhanced electric range and refined performance. Available in both traditional SUV and stylish Sportback designs, this plug-in hybrid combines efficiency, comfort, and everyday practicality with Audi’s signature engineering.
At the heart of the update is a larger 20.7 kilowatt-hour battery that allows up to 62 miles of pure electric driving. The battery now uses Audi’s new cell-to-pack design, where individual cells are bonded directly to the battery housing. This method improves power density, increases efficiency, and makes better use of space.
Charging has also been upgraded. The Q5 e hybrid supports up to 11 kilowatts of alternating current through a three-phase connection, fully recharging in around two and a half hours. Although not all homes are equipped with three-phase power, this fast charging rate will be especially useful at public and commercial stations.
Under the hood, the system includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine working together with an electric motor to produce 295 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. The power is delivered through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission paired with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system, offering responsive and balanced driving in a range of conditions.
Energy recovery is improved through stronger regenerative braking, now able to capture up to 88 kilowatts. Drivers can select between three levels of regeneration using steering wheel paddles, allowing for smoother and more efficient energy use depending on the driving situation.
Inside the cabin, the Q5 e hybrid comes with a 14.5-inch central touchscreen and an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster. An optional 10.9-inch display is available for the front passenger. Technology features include a vented wireless phone charging pad and four USB-C ports distributed between the front and rear seating areas.
Rear seat flexibility adds to the Q5’s practicality. The adjustable bench can be repositioned or folded down to expand cargo capacity. With the seats up, luggage space reaches 438 liters in the SUV model and 433 liters in the Sportback. Folding the seats increases capacity to 1,358 and 1,300 liters respectively.
Deliveries are set to begin soon. The Audi Q5 e hybrid offers a compelling blend of electric driving range, premium comfort, and hybrid flexibility.
