August 7, 2016 – Roger Feghali secured the 2016 Lebanese Hill Climb Championship title after a brilliant performance today in the third and final round of the season in Baabdat.
Feghali (Mitsubishi Evo VI) won the race after clocking 1 minute 20.76 seconds and made it three consecutive victories in three rounds in 2016, while his closest title rival Jawad Slim (Mitsubishi Evo X) settled for 3rd place behind Michel Slaiby.
In his first appearance onboard the Ford Fiesta R5, Tamer Ghandour was able to win the RC2 category.
Rodolphe Asmar clinched the win in the Group N category after a fierce showdown with Eddy Abou Karam (Evo X), and therefore secured the Lebanese Hill Climb Group N title onboard the Mitsubishi Evo X.
Garo Haroutiounian and Paul Kossaifi were locked in a battle for rear-wheel drive supremacy, and it was the former who prevailed in the end by finishing ahead and snatching the title as a result, while Patrick Njeim pulled off a similar achievement in the front-wheel drive class by overcoming pressure from Bassel Abu Hamdan and finishing first to claim the title.
Other winners in Baabdat include: Richard Ibrahim in SM3, Elie Hage in SM4, Hani Raad in SM6, Majed Khoury in RC4, Matthias Njeim in RC5 and Lara Helou in the Ladies Cup.
