February 28, 2017 – It was Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen who topped the timesheets today in the second day of the first 2017 Formula 1 test in Barcelona. The Finn clocked 1:20.960 on the yellow soft tyres.
Yesterday’s fastest man Lewis Hamilton ended up second, just 0.023 seconds behind the Ferrari, but his fastest lap came on the red super soft tyres. Hamilton and team-mate Bottas brought the Mercedes’ lap count to 167, most of any team.
There were several stoppages today, Esteban Ocon’s Force India in the morning due to a mechanical problem while Lance Stroll spun out and damaged the Williams, and McLaren’s woes continued with the team running into more problems and competing 40 laps only.
