Bassoul-Heneine sal kick starts 2015 with outstanding BMW Group Q1 sales growth

April 24, 2015 – Lebanon has achieved the second biggest BMW Group sales growth in the Middle East for the first quarter of 2015. Representing an outstanding start to the year, Bassoul-Heneine sal, the official BMW Group importer in Lebanon, achieved an impressive 11% increase in BMW and MINI sales during the first three months compared to the same period in 2014.

This remarkable growth has been driven by an increase in sales for a number of the top-of-the-range BMW models, including the X model range. Not only were the BMW X models a key driver in BMW Group’s overall regional success but they also accounted for 40% of total sales in Lebanon. Boasting a young and refreshed portfolio following the arrival of a number of latest generation vehicles, the best-selling X model in Lebanon is the BMW X6, which achieved a 660% increase in sales.

Meanwhile, the BMW 4 Series achieved a 105% sales growth. Embodying the sporty nature of the premium segment, it boasts the perfect blend of design, sporting performance and technology, and has offered customers a completely new experience.

Nagy Heneine, General Manager for Commercial Affairs at Bassoul-Heneine sal, said: “We have started the year as we mean to go on – exceptional sales growth and recognition as one of the best performing markets in the region. The BMW X family continues on its journey of success that started over a decade ago and still growing, while the BMW 4 Series has proven once again to be more than up to the challenge. This year marks our 60th year of partnership with BMW Group, so we’re looking forward to making it a year to remember and will continue to exceed customer expectations with our successful offering of innovative and premium products as well as excellent customer service.”

Meanwhile, the iconic MINI brand echoed the company’s overall success with a 44% increase in sales. Its growth was driven by the MINI Countryman while the MINI 3-door and 5-door Hatch also fuelled growth, following their launches last year. The brand began another fresh chapter of its success story when the new 3-door MINI Hatch went on sale across the region, including Lebanon, in Spring 2014, while the MINI 5 door Hatch – an entirely new variant in the model programme with extra space compared to the 3-door Hatch – followed in November 2014 taking road presence to a new level in its segment and attracting new customers to the MINI brand.
