The Dubai 24-Hour race was a bittersweet affair for Team Schubert as the #76 BMW Z4 GT3 finished 10th overall after initially competing for first position, while the Racingdivas #90 BMW 320D won the A3T category following a masterful drive.
SX Team Schubert’s was in contention for the overall win in the first half of the race, but a tyre puncture on the 12th hour damaged some of the Z4 GT3’s rear right suspension components, forcing the team to pit for repairs. More drama ensued an hour later when the BMW got involved in a collision, causing further damage and additional unscheduled repairs. SX Team Schubert dropped back to 17th overall.
Unshaken by all the bad luck, SX Team Schubert’s driver line-up pushed hard in the remaining 12 hours to ultimately finish a humble 10th place overall and 7th in the A6-Pro class; not the result that was hoped for, nevertheless, a superb effort by the team.
Racingdivas Team Schubert made the greatest comeback of the race to win the A3T category; the pink car was involved in an accident just 2 hours in and was forced to pit for some stitching up, therefore losing out to rival cars. This, however, didn’t stop the all-female driver line-up from pushing the #90 BMW 320D to its limits and eventually secure a class victory. Racingdivas demonstrated true resilience in one of the toughest endurance races.
Team Schubert seeks to extends its success with hopefully an overall victory next year.
