BMW celebrates the E31 8-Series with a new video

BMW has released a new video celebrating their 1990s flagship coupe: the 8-Series. The GT sports coupe was never a commercial success, but it surely paved the way for future sports cars from the German brand.

Codenamed the E31, it was offered with a variety of big engines, the smallest of all was a 4.0-liter V8 with 282 horsepower fitted to the 840Ci, while the biggest engine came as a 5.4-liter V12 with 375 horsepower on the 850CSi. BMW also created a one-off M8 that produces 550 hp.

The German automaker is considering a new 8-Series coupe influenced by the Gran Lusso Coupe concept which was unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2013 almost a month ago.
