BMW’s M division has recently dropped three photos of a V12-powered BMW Z3 prototype on Facebook. No information was released concerning the car, only the fact that it was build years ago.
Over the years, BMW and its various sub-brands have built several prototype models that never made into production such as the M8, E34 M5 Convertible, 7 Series Goldfish V16 and the M3 Pickup.
Although no performance figures were given, it’s most likely that the V12 engine is the 5.4-liter M73 previously used on the E38 750i/iL and E31 850Ci coupe, which develops 326-hp and 490 Nm of torque.
