BMW M1 abandoned for 34 years found in Italy

December 29, 2016 – With only 453 copies produced, you would expect that every remaining BMW M1 on the planet is very well-taken care of. However, a recent barn find proves that this is not the case.

A 1981 BMW M1 was recently discovered rotting away in an Italian garage after being untouched for the past 34 years, which explains the amount of dust covering both its exterior and interior – as you’ll see in the images below. It is fitted with all of its original parts and has 7,392 kilometers on the odometer.

German BMW dealer and specialist Mint Classics picked up the rare supercar, which is powered by a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine, and intends to restore it to its original condition.
