BMW M4 GTS posts record-breaking Nürburgring time

December 22, 2015 – The hardcore new BMW M4 GTS is officially the fastest production car ever produced by the German automaker as it set the fastest time for a BMW around the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The M4 GTS managed to clock 7 minutes 27.88 seconds, which makes it as fast as much more expensive supercars like the McLaren MP4-12C, Ferrari 458 Italia and Porsche Carrera GT; it’s also just a second slower than the track-oriented Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0, and 24 seconds quicker than a standard M4.

BMW will only be developing 700 units of the M4 GTS, which makes use of a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine with 493 hp that helps it sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
