In a report in Car and Driver magazine, BMW has revealed plans of an updated naming system to its more performance-oriented machines. Previously named “is”, the new models will feature the letter “M” (in reference to its high-performance M subdivision).
The 135is and 335is for example will become known as the M135i and M335i; the first model to bare the new naming system will reportedly be the M235i (a 2-Series BMW is coming, and it’s the coupe version of the 1 Series) which is expected to make its first public appearance at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
There’s nothing like having an M logo on your BMW. We approve.
