BMW to end Prodrive contrat for MINI WRC cars

So, the rumors are right after all. Mini and Prodrive are not on good terms. Earlier this week Prodrive’s Richard Taylor denied the partnership between the 2 firms would be ended and said that everything was fine and the cars are departing to Rally Sweden that will take place next week. The fact is though that BMW has grown sick of the financial demands that Pro-driver are asking in order to upgrade their car and they feel that the project is taking too much resources. The fire erupted between the two when Mini failed earlier to meet the deadline for registering for the this WRC season and rumors of the dispute never stopped going around. Mini has also benched one of their official drivers, Britain’s Kris Meeke for several event into this year’s calender. In Monte Carlo collected valuable WRC points with Sordo second and French man Camapana in the points too.  There is speculation that BMW is ready to hand the project over to an Italian preparation firm or quit the whole programme altogether.

What we can deduce from this fiasco that BMW will part company with Prodrive but not suddenly as rumors report, although the German Giant maker is seeking to declare break up today, and they will continue the season with Prodrive before restructuring for next year.
