After the introduction of the 2nd generation 5-door 1 Series early in June last year, BMW has finally pulled the covers off the 3-door version of the car.
The new 102-hp 114i model establishes the base, followed by the 136-hp 116i, 170-hp 118i and 218-hp on the 125i. The range topping M135i comes with a six-cylinder engine pumping out a stunning 320hp, 23 horsepowers less than the E46 generation of the M3.
The engine can be coupled to either a six-speed manual transmission or one of two eight-speed automatic transmissions.
The M135i model comes with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system, an aerodynamically enhanced body kit, an upgraded suspension and a unique interior that distinguishes itself from the standard variants.
Reports suggest that a 5-door version of the M135i will be coming, after BMW showcased only the 3-door version.
