BMW unveils Active Tourer Concept

After a myriad of spyshots, BMW finally took the covers off of its Mercedes-Benz B-Class rivaling MPV, dubbed the Active Tourer Concept, which previews the front-wheel drive 1-Series Gran Turismo.

The Active Tourer Concept features aggressive styling inside out, and will have its platform shared with the next-generation MINIs in addition to other front-wheel drive BMW models.

Powered by BMW’s newly released 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, and a synchronous electric motor on the rear axle, the premium hatchback develops of combined output in excess of 188 horsepower which catapults the car from 0-100 km/h in less than 8 seconds, and hit a top speed of 200 km/h.

Fuel economy is a highly impressive 2.5-liter/100km with CO2 emissions less than 60g/km; the Active Grand Tourer will make its first public appearance at the Paris Motor Show in less than 2 weeks.
