Cadillac Confirms Bottas and Perez for F1 Debut

Cadillac has officially confirmed Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez as its drivers for the 2026 Formula 1 season. The announcement ends months of speculation and signals the brand’s ambitious entry into the sport with two proven race winners.

Team principal Graeme Lowdon praised the pair’s experience, describing their leadership, speed, and ability to build a new team from the ground up as vital to Cadillac’s long-term vision. Between them, Bottas and Perez bring over 500 Grand Prix starts and more than 100 podium finishes, making them one of the most seasoned line-ups on the grid.

Perez expressed excitement about joining a project with such determination, calling Cadillac a legendary name in American motorsport. He highlighted the opportunity to help shape a new team capable of becoming a future contender. Bottas, meanwhile, emphasized the uniqueness of joining an Anglo-American operation with bases in Indiana, North Carolina, and Silverstone, noting the appeal of contributing to something being built from scratch.

Both drivers stressed their desire to represent the spirit of American racing on the global stage. With Cadillac stepping into Formula 1 for the first time, expectations are high that this partnership will create a competitive force and rally support across the Americas.
