De Tomaso has officially revealed the production-spec P72, a €1.6M V8-powered supercar inspired by the 1965 P70 collaboration between Alejandro De Tomaso and Carroll Shelby. Designed as a tribute to the brand’s 65-year heritage, the P72 blends 1960s design with modern engineering. Beneath its flowing carbon fibre body lies an all-new monocoque chassis—an unbroken, single-piece carbon structure designed for rigidity, weight savings, and optimal balance. Developed from the ground up, it supports a low-slung driving position and precision suspension geometry for responsive handling. The car’s heart is a hand-built, 5.0L supercharged V8 producing 700 hp and 820 Nm. Forged internals and short gear ratios deliver sharp, emotional performance—not just speed.
