World Rally Championship reporter and Maxrally columnist Colin Clark recently got behind the wheel of M-Sport’s all-new Ford Fiesta R5 during the rally car’s official launch in Cumbria, England this week.
The new R5 cars will compete in the WRC 2 category alongside Super 2000 and RRC machinery starting next year. R5 rally cars use the same basic shell as their WRC counterparts, but engines have 32mm restrictors, compared to 34mm restrictors on the more powerful WRC cars.
Peugeot was the first manufacturer to unveil its R5-Spec car back in September 2012.
