Could This Be the Next Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution XI?

A stunning new design for the next Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution XI, inspired by the iconic Evo IX, hints at a thrilling comeback for the legendary sports sedan.

The revival of iconic Japanese sports cars is in full swing, with models like the Honda Prelude already confirmed for a comeback. Following this trend, other manufacturers like Mazda, Nissan, and Toyota have teased their own legendary revivals. But where is Mitsubishi in all this? The silence is deafening.

To break the quiet, British automotive designers Roman Miah and Samiul Choudhury have shared an unofficial yet striking rendering of what a next-generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution XI could look like. The design combines aggressive styling and modern performance features, making a strong case for the Evo’s return.

At the heart of this render is a sleek, carbon-fiber body kit with razor-sharp light elements and oversized exhaust pipes that resemble something from a high-tech lab. The roof features carbon material and aerodynamic vortex generators, enhancing the car’s performance and efficiency.

The choice of metallic grey paired with red brake calipers brings back memories of the iconic Evo VIII FQ400—famous for its wild turbocharged performance and thrilling track moments, including taking on a Lamborghini Murcielago at Dunsfold. The design of this next-gen Evo pays homage to the past while looking forward to the future.

In an interview with TopGear.com, Choudhury explained, “We drew inspiration from the Evo IX, but with the chassis from the Evo X. The front end is lower, adopting a more aggressive wedge shape, while the streamlined lines flow downwards, giving it a fresh yet familiar look.”

Mitsubishi, it’s time to bring back the Evo—perhaps with this bold design as your blueprint. The car community is waiting.
