The dust has begun to settle in the South American continent as Stephane Peterhansel maintains his Dakar Rally lead to this hour by a substantial margin from Giniel de Villiers.
But during yesterday’s tenth stage, it was Orlando Terranova who put on the best performance by winning the stage, two minutes from Nani Roma and Peterhansel.
Terranova is the first Argentinian to ever a win a Dakar Rally stage, he’s also the first driver to win on a BMW since Stephane Peterhansel’s Stage 13 victory at the 2010 event.
Peterhansel now holds the overall lead by 52 minutes, with just four stages to go; the Frenchman is followed by Giniel de Villier’s Imperial Toyota and the X-Raid Minis of Leonid Novitskiy and Nani Roma.
