Robby Gordon has taken the win in the 11th stage of the Dakar Rally, which was shortened due to flooded rivers 69 kilometers into the stage. Drivers completed 53 kilometers of the 220-kilometer planned total distance.
Gordon was running fastest before drivers were forced to stop, thus the American was awarded victory. It was the eighth stage win of Gordon’s Dakar career, and his first during this year’s event.
Stage eleven results were not counted in the overall standing since drivers were unable to complete the whole stage, meaning Stephane Peterhansel retains the overall lead by a 52-minute margin from Giniel de Villiers with just three stages remaining.
