General standings leader Nasser Al-Attiyah finished the day’s special in fourth place and thus managed to extend his lead to a very comfortable 35 minutes ahead of Toyota’s Giniel de Villiers.
KTM’s Toby Price finally grabbed his first victory in Dakar 2015 in a stage that he led from start to finish. The Australian, 3rd in the general standings, completed the stage ahead of the two Honda HRC team-mates Joan Barreda and Paulo Goncalves, who were second and third respecticely, but their times were insufficient to worry Marc Coma in the general standings.
