Since 2020, Gordon Murray Automotive has been developing the T.50, a car designed to be the spiritual successor to Murray’s iconic McLaren F1. Murray’s aim was to address the aspects of the F1 he wished to improve, creating a vehicle that delivers a raw, immersive driving experience while incorporating the latest advancements in mechanical and material technology.
The T.50 is a compact vehicle, roughly the size of a Porsche Cayman, featuring a custom-built Cosworth V-12 engine tailored to Murray’s exacting standards. It’s available exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission and only utilizes power steering at low speeds, emphasizing the purity of the driving experience. The car seats three passengers in a unique arrangement but is best suited for smaller occupants.
Despite its focus on driver engagement, the T.50 is far from being a simple throwback.
