De Tomaso has officially revealed the production-spec P72, a €1.6M V8-powered supercar inspired by the 1965 P70 collaboration between Alejandro De Tomaso and Carroll Shelby. Designed as a tribute to the brand’s 65-year heritage, the P72 blends 1960s design with modern engineering.
Beneath its flowing carbon fibre body lies an all-new monocoque chassis—an unbroken, single-piece carbon structure designed for rigidity, weight savings, and optimal balance. Developed from the ground up, it supports a low-slung driving position and precision suspension geometry for responsive handling.
The car’s heart is a hand-built, 5.0L supercharged V8 producing 700 hp and 820 Nm. Forged internals and short gear ratios deliver sharp, emotional performance—not just speed. There are no drive modes or digital filters—just a raw, connected drive.
Inside, the cabin is a fully analogue experience. No screens, no infotainment—just mechanical dials, hand-finished metalwork, and an exposed six-speed gearbox linkage that emphasizes feel over tech. Every interior component, from the aluminium switchgear to the leather trim, is hand-crafted for a tactile, timeless look.

Aerodynamically efficient and equipped with a manually adjustable push-rod suspension, the P72 rewards skilled drivers. It’s a grand tourer built for spirited road use—not track domination.
The production-spec P72, revealed today, mirrors the exact configuration future owners will receive. Only 72 units will be produced, each tailor-made for its owner. Deliveries begin in late 2025.
With the P72, De Tomaso honors its legacy while redefining analogue performance for a new era.
