Dodge Hornet: 1072-HP Electric Rally Car Debuts

Dodge unveils the 1072-HP Hornet FC1-X electric rally car, accelerating to 60 mph in 1.4 seconds. Competing in Nitrocross with high-profile drivers.

Dodge is introducing the Hornet name to motorsports with the new FC1-X electric rally car, boasting an impressive 1072 horsepower. Unlike the standard Hornet crossover, this race car is engineered for high performance, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.4 seconds and generating nearly 2 g’s of force.

The Hornet FC1-X features an all-wheel-drive electric powertrain, a carbon-fiber tub, and a tubular chassis, coupled with a double-wishbone suspension for 12 inches of wheel travel. It will compete in the Nitrocross series’ Group E, the top tier of this off-road racing league founded by Travis Pastrana, where it will race against identical FC1-X models, distinguished only by its Hornet-themed design.

Driven by notable racers including 17-year-old Lia Block, the daughter of Ken Block, the Hornet FC1-X aims to capture the attention of Nitrocross’s predominantly young fan base. The 2024 season began at Richmond Raceway, with Robin Larsson securing the first victory for Dodge and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing.
