February 21, 2015 – The BMW 1 Series M and Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG are two very different cars; the former is a pure sports car while the latter is a high-performance family hatchback.
However, if you look at their specs, you’ll realize just how evenly matched these two cars are. The BMW’s twin-turbocharged six-cylinder produces 335 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, whereas the turbocharged four-cylinder unit in the Mercedes generates 355 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The A45 AMG tips the scales at 1480 kilograms, making it 15 kilograms lighter than the BMW; it is also powered by all four wheels, compared to just the rear wheels in the BMW.
