December 7, 2016 – Germany’s AutoBild magazine recently pitted a BMW M240i against a Porsche 718 Cayman, which are two sports cars that have a similar customer base.
The 718 Cayman brings to the fight a 2.0-liter flat-four engine, producing 300 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, while the M240i has a 3.0 liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine delivering 335 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.
On paper, the M240i should be the faster car, but it is hampered by its weight as it is nearly 200 kilograms heavier than the 718 Cayman. So, which one is faster in a straight line? Find out in the video below.
