April 8, 2016 – They look virtually the same on the outside, but they’re very different ways of going fast. You’re looking at the mighty Golf R alongside a Golf GTI with the Performance Pack fitted and a Golf GTD.
On paper, there’s not much competition, as the Golf R benefits from 296 bhp/380 Nm and all-wheel drive, compared to the Golf GTI PP’s 227 bhp/350 Nm and the diesel-powered GTD’s 181 bhp/380 Nm – both of which are front-wheel drive.
