After smoking its predecessor, the Clio 3 RS, in a drag race, it was time for the new Clio RS 200 EDC to move on and challenge something a bit different but just as French: Peugeot’s 208 GTI.
Technically, the cars are very similar. Both hatches boast a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine; the Clio RS has 200 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, while the 208 GTI enjoys the same horsepower figure but a tad more torque with 275 Nm, the 208 is also the lighter of the two.
The 208 GTI though, is disadvantaged by its slower 6-speed manual transmission compared to the 6-speed dual-clutch on the Clio RS. Will the transmission difference prove crucial? Discover the answer in the footage below.
